This piece from SIT AND READ - a Brooklyn based creative agency, gallery and retail space - is both super and duper. The 'super' bit is that heavenly teak frame designed by Ib Kofod-Larsen, and the 'duper' bit those cushions upholstered in Hudson Bay blankets. Pair the two together and you've got yourself a super-duper HUDSON BAY SOFA … a wonderful combination of materials, colours and pattern.

We've spent far too long debating whether or not our 'mix' posts need to have any words. What do you think? If you think not, then stop reading now and pretend there isn't any text here. If, on the other hand, you think 'yeah, words are good, we'll take some words please', then by all means carry on …

We've plumped for a monochrome mix this week, focusing on shaped black wire and shapely leather curves. There. That's it. We really, really tried, but we couldn't think of any more words. We're off to get some medicine for writers' block ... have a great weekend!
PS: Hope you enjoyed the pictures.

A while ago now we featured this delightful SIDEBOARD which we understood was designed by Nils Jonsson for Hugo Troeds. And we said as much. And that was that. And then, just the other day, we received a comment on the original post which read "It's actually designed by Yngve Eckstrom for Troeds". And off we went. Turns out there are a few of these sideboards floating around, some attributed to Nils Jonsson and others to Yngve Ekström. And then bingo. BRA BOHAG, an Edinburgh based shop specialising in mid-century furniture, recently sold a SIDEBOARD just like this one. And the fun doesn't stop there. Oh no. Their helpful description of "a small Swedish Bra Bohag sideboard designed by Yngve Ekström, and made by Troeds" was accompanied by this very helpful photograph.

Up until the other day we'd never featured ARKANA on the blog. Why? Well, quite possibly because we're design snobs - come on, there's only one TULIP chair, and it's the one designed by Eero Sarineen for Knoll. End of. Just how Mr. Burke was able to take Sarineen's design and reproduce it so, umm, blatantly is beyond us. But he did. And here it is. The seat has very similar dimensions to Saarinen's chair, but the pedestal features a four-legged propeller shaped base instead of the circular one seen on Saarinen's design. Also, as with Sarineen's design, Burke's were crafted from fibreglass plastic and the pedestal bases made of enamel-coated aluminium.

So there you have it. A rip-off. But, rightly or wrongly, these 'tulips' are growing on us.

We've come up with a new series which allows us to play around with beautiful images and indulge our wider passion for interiors, lighting, textiles - basically anything home-related. Today's focus is grey - textures in particular - mixed with our current penchant for all things black and white. Throw in a few choice chairs, and fingers crossed you'll enjoy what we've come up with.

Do let us know what you think.
