Ones and twos

Monday, 9 May 2011

We were kindly invited to a private viewing of Cavaliero Finn's Spring Fair which took place in their home-cum-gallery over the weekend.  With a host of delights on display, it was the work of furniture designer Alexena Cayless that we were most eager to see in the flesh.  The design of Alexena's Cheaney Chair is inspired by the traditional skills and materials of shoemakers and saddlery companies.  The chair, an upcycled G Plan dining chair, has been reupholstered with leather brogue patterns hand-crafted by Cheaney Shoes in Northamptonshire and Scottish Tweed.
