We spent far too much time yesterday attempting to put a post together about the restoration of our Eames armshell.  We were fairly happy with the words we used and the order in which we used them, but it was the obligatory 'after' shot that caused us the most consternation.  You see, we only had the one shot - this one.  And this image just isn't the right image.  For starters, it's not at all representative of what our completed restoration project looks like in real-life ... plonked against a backdrop, heavily edited and with filters applied for that extra ta-dah.  No.

So today we're going to get busy with the camera and attempt to take a few decent snaps of that new/old chair of ours.  Stay tuned!

  1. Doesn't it drive you crazy when you can't get a photo that does justice to a piece? We have the same problem with red upholstered items. We've never mastered the art of photographing that color, so our images are never quite right.

    I will definitely stay tuned!

    1. There's something very mysterious about the colour red - always think this whenever we iron something red (the colour momentarily changes) or see a faded red car. Strange. But true!
